On The Move
Movement – geographical, cultural and professional – is a central element of my experience: assignments in different regions of the world, changing roles and continuous learning in complex contexts.
“Coaching On The Move” thus stands for coaching based on lived international practice – characterized by adaptability, change of perspective and the ability to accompany people in transitions and change processes.
"On the Move" describes the core of my journey so far, which has repeatedly presented me with new and unknown challenges. Growth and development have become an integral part of my personality.
My career
My professional path has been characterized by a continuous interest in social coexistence, organizational structures, and the actions of people in complex contexts.
After completing my sociology studies in Zurich, I worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) – as a delegate in El Salvador and later at headquarters in Geneva, responsible for relief operations in the Horn of Africa. This work sharpened my understanding of decision-making under uncertainty, responsibility in crisis situations, and the importance of sustainable cooperation.
In 1987, I began my diplomatic career with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Following training in Bern, Ottawa, and Geneva, I served in Brasília, Vienna, Bern, Brussels, and Madrid. Later, I headed the Eastern Cooperation division of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Bern and served as Swiss Ambassador to Bogotá and, most recently, to Jakarta, with accreditations for Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN. In these roles, I gained extensive experience in leadership, negotiation, organizational development, and intercultural cooperation.
Between 2023 and 2025, I completed training at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) in individual counseling, group and team counseling, and organizational development processes. This complements my professional experience with counseling-specific knowledge. Furthermore, I have previous training as an Advanced Coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Quality standards and financial aspects
The training I completed at FHNW and my work adhere to the bso quality standards.
During an initial consultation, a contract is agreed upon for each collaboration, which includes a confidentiality agreement. My hourly rates are based on the bso standard rates.
